Artistic Direction

Lorna Paterson brings a wealth of musical training and experience to the newly established position of Artistic Director of Chamber Music Kelowna.  Lorna has a Master of Music degree and taught piano at several conservatories including the Victoria Conservatory of Music and more recently, the Kelowna Community Music School where she is also Artistic Director.  She served on the CMK Board of Directors and is a passionate supporter of the arts.  Lorna’s strong interest in music education led her to compose piano works for students which have received international acclaim and are published by The Frederick Harris Music Company.  Lorna looks forward to continuing the CMK tradition of bringing exceptional talent to our audiences.

Charles Schneider is an elementary school principal and supporter of the arts in Kelowna.   His experience as a music teacher and his passion for the fine arts serve him well as he chairs the Central Okanagan School District’s Cultural Performance Committee, arranging and scheduling more than 200 performances each year to benefit the students of its thirty elementary schools.   Performing artists include instrumentalists, chamber music ensembles, puppeteers, opera and dance groups, as well as numerous other presenters. For a number of years on this committee, Charles negotiated performance contracts with the visiting artists.   Charles looks forward to drawing on this experience as he helps to establish the exciting concerts for upcoming CMK seasons.
