President's Message

In the past year the Board of Directors and staff have completed the process of developing a new strategic plan for the Society.

Our Vision: To celebrate chamber music.

Our Mission: To provide the community with opportunities to experience chamber music in an intimate setting.

Our values: To seek Excellence, Sustainability and Engagement in all that we do.

The programming approach of Chamber Music Kelowna remains the same; as we enter our 39th year with you, our loyal subscribers, we offer an exciting 5-concert series presenting both Canadian and international artists of renown. Our focus on youth engagement is through our outreach activities; this year our visiting artists will perform short concerts to local school students and offer master classes to aspiring artists. Through generous sponsorship and endowment funds, youth performance awards will continue to be offered at Kiwanis Music Festival. Community outreach will involve concert, open dress rehearsal and pre-concert talks by artists and local speakers.

Chamber Music Kelowna Society thrives due to the dedication of a small number of volunteers. Thank you! This year our Board of Directors operates with 5 directors, a significant change. If you have skills, please share them with Chamber Music Kelowna. Contact us at 250-859-7640 or email us at We need you!

The Board of Directors appreciates the dedicated talents of our Coordinator of Operations, Geraldine Parent and that of Artistic Directors Lorna Paterson and Charles Schneider. We are also pleased to announce that beginning in July 2018 a new artistic director Eeva-Maria Kopp was hired to work with the current directors and eventually assume responsibility for programming our series.

We are extremely grateful for the support of the City of Kelowna, the Government of Canada, the Province of BC, the Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo, Forever Young Magazine and Canada West Realty Inc., as well as the support of individual donors. We thank you!

Enjoy your season, revel in the music!

Louise Wall, President
