Individual Biographies
Jasper
Wood, violin
An acclaimed competition winner, Jasper Wood made his orchestral
debut at 13. He has performed extensively throughout North America
as a soloist and chamber musician. Recent performances have taken
him from Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall to Washington, New Jersey,
Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Italy. Wood
has world-premiered many works for the violin and is active in the
commissioning and discovering of new music. Under the sponsorship
of the Canada Council for the Arts, he has had the opportunity to
work and perform with outstanding musicians of our time. In 1996,
Jasper Wood won the distinguished Sylva Gelber award, honouring
Canada's most promising young Classical musicians. Jasper has been
heard on NPR, CBC Radio, and Bravo TV.

Simon
Cole, clarinet
A clarinetist, saxophonist and composer, Cole holds a Laureate from
L'Academie de Musique du Quebec and has taught music for 25 years.
He was Principal Clarinet with the Rishon Orchestra of Israel, the
Banff Opera Orchestra, and currently holds that position with the
Prince George Symphony. He is a founder of Alban Classical, an organization
that produces music, and performs concerts throughout the north
of B.C. in schools and communities. He can be heard on CBC radio
and TV.

Arnold
Draper, piano
Born in Wales, from a family of eminent musicians, Mr. Draper has
given solo recitals and chamber music concerts throughout Britain
and has performed for BBC Radio, T.V. and British commercial television.
He has performed concertos with various orchestras, and has accompanied
many distinguished British and European instrumentalists and singers.
Since making Kelowna his home in 1989, Mr. Draper has been an accompanist,
teacher and adjudicator, performing for the Mozart Festival and
the Kelowna Chamber Music Society (now Chamber Music Kelowna), and
with the Okanagan Festival Singers and Musaic Vocal Ensemble. Mr.
Draper formed the Chinook Duo with Gloria Saarinen in 1994, and
they recorded the complete repertoire of Schubert’s Music
for Four Hands (7 CDs) in Toronto. Volume 1 was released for the
Schubert Bicentenary in 1997.
