Join us on this special Anniversary Concert that falls on St. Cecilia Day, and also marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of British composer Benjamin Britten. This spectacular programme includes various ensemble groupings with voice and piano, string quartet, and full ensemble. These brilliant artists, all School of Music, University of Victoria faculty will take us on a journey from the sublime music of Franz Schubert, to the innovative and enchanting music of Benjamin Britten and Ralph Vaughan Williams.  The concert concludes with settings of the famous poet A.E.Housman's, “On Wenlock Edge”, a glorious song cycle for tenor, piano and string quartet by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The members of the Lafayette String Quartet are Artists-in-Residence at the University of Victoria School of Music, Faculty of Fine Arts in British Columbia. The Lafayette String Quartet is managed by Lydia Kasianchuk, Artists’ Manager.
