The Zodiac Trio is recognized as one of the foremost clarinet- violin-piano ensemblestoday. Their extensive touring schedule includes Ottawa Chamberfest, Beijing Performing Arts Center, Izumi Hall, Bruno Walter and Tishman Auditoriums in New York. The trio's performances have been broadcast by France 3 Television, Beijing's CCTV News, CBC Radio and Television, NBC, WGBH Boston, and Radio France, Paris.

Ariel Barnes is principal cello for the Nuernberger Symphoniker since 2016.
Internationally recognized for his unique tone, passionate performances and one vital half of COULOIR, Ariel is actively involved in the development of 21st Century Art Music. Ariel was selected by the CBC as one of six Canadian cellists for its celebrated Canadian Bach Cello Suite Project and was recently awarded First Prize at the 24th International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austra. Equally comfortable with Baroque to Modern musical languages, his international concert engagements include concerto appearances, chamber music collaborations and solo recitals, all featuring world premiers of contemporary art music featuring exceptional stylistic diversity.
